At the June event, the Benjamin Moore showroom was packed with high-end designers who gathered to hear an inspiring case study of a 100-year-old house that Benjamin Moore design rep Sophie Bergeron designed using CENTURY, specifically its CARMINE RED C7, DEEP IOLITE T7 and TERRE VERTE O5 colors.

Give Clients the “Why” for Moving Beyond Whites and Neutrals

During the discussion, “CENTURY: Through the Eyes of a Designer,” guests heard a familiar challenge: How do you create and deliver the best possible design, when your client is only comfortable in neutrals and whites?

Sophie’s advice? Talk through room elements like rugs, drapes, furnishings and light fixtures, as well as wall and ceiling color. Sketch out ideas. Pull magazine articles. In other words, “give them the why,” as Sophie explains.

With CENTURY, Sophie was able to complement beautiful, rich color with just the right appointments. She balanced a deep CENTURY hue with a light-color rug. She also incorporated soft off-whites on ceilings, trim and bookcases. The end result turned her client’s trepidation–into elation.

Stay tuned: Noteworthy will be sharing “before and after” photos from several rooms of the 100-year-old house that Sophie discussed at Neocon shortly!
