What is a Soft Touch Matte finish? What does it feel like?
Century® delivers the industry's first Soft Touch Matte finish, which creates a visceral reaction and tactile experience with a feel similar to a soft leather glove. This unique finish and depth of colour creates a new dimension to the wall that hasn't been achieved before in paint.
Who are the Century craftsmen?
The Century craftsmen are specially trained Benjamin Moore experts who bring years of skill to the making of this innovative product. They are experienced colour specialists who believe in precision, and create from passion.
What are the recommended surfaces?
Recommended surfaces include: New or previously painted wallboard, plaster, and primed or previously painted smooth wood.
Are there projects or spaces for which we do not recommend Century?
Century is not recommended for high-moisture areas, such as bathrooms and kitchen cooking areas. It is also not recommended for high-traffic hallways.
Is the finish washable? Will cleaning affect the appearance?
After the full cure period of two weeks, Century painted surfaces can be lightly washed with a mild soap and water mixture without affecting the appearance.
How many coats are required and what is the re-coat time?
We recommend two coats of Century to achieve full colour development, sheen, and texture as well as to maximize paint performance. The re-coat time is 1-2 hours.
What primer is recommended for Century?
Depending on the surface, we recommend either Fresh Start® Multi-Purpose Latex Primer (K023) or Fresh Start® High-Hiding All Purpose Primer (K046).
What applicators are recommended for Century?
For best results, use a Benjamin Moore Century custom-blended nylon/polyester brush or Benjamin Moore Century 10 mm roller cover; Century applicators are only available at select stores that carry Century.
Are the Century colours new?
Yes, all 75 colours are new and uniquely formulated specifically for Century.
Can you create Century colours in other products?
No, it is not possible to colour match the Century colours in other products.
What sizes are available in Century?
Century is available in cans of 3.79 L as well as 118 ml colour samples, both of which are sold in stores that carry Century.
